Next to Wroclaw (Poland), BASF has opened its largest catalyst plant in Europe. Since last month 100 people are working in the first two production lines. Until 2016 the number of light duty and heavy duty catalysts production lines shall increase up to 10 with a final employee base of 400. Investion costs amount to €150 million. Among other products, Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems, cutting-edge SCR on Filter (SCRoF) solutions as well as PremAir®-branded ozone destruction catalysts for automotive applications are produced. Therefore, the plant supports the increased demand for catalysts due to stringent Euro 6/VI emissions regulations.
